After a great and successful gathering of more than 500 delegates, in Marrakech, in 2016, ARA WEEK 2017 is quickly getting closer and we are very much looking forward to meeting everyone, this time, in Cape Town, South Africa.
You will be coming from all corners of the world – from Africa, Europe, Asia, Canada and the USA and we hope that you will find the conference stimulating, challenging and above all, productive for us all.
This document contains information to help you prepare to attend the ARA WEEK. Please read it carefully updates, if any, will be sent to you.
The ARA WEEK team
ARA WEEK 2017 will be held at the Westin Cape Town. The time distance between the Westin and the Cape Town International Airport is between 20-25 minutes’ drive.
Average cost of cab transfer is 200 Rands.
The ARA is pleased to offer hotel sleeping room blocks at the Westin Cape Town & The Protea North Wharf with discounted rates. These hotels are comfortable and convenient accommodations, one being the conference venue and the second, just across the street from the Westin. This will allow you to take full advantage of everything the ARA WEEK conference has to offer.

Pre-registration will be available from March 11th on the ground floor of the Westin, at the Group Hospitality Area, at the extreme left hand side of the reception counters, at 2 pm. Formal registration opens at 8.30 am on the 13th of March at the same venue.
Each participant will receive a badge upon registration.
Badges cannot be collected for someone else; members must pick up their own badge.
If you lose your badge, you will be responsible for buying another one at the cost of USD 50 (575 Rands).Unfortunately, when a badge is claimed as lost or stolen, we cannot confirm that someone else is not using it.
Every attendee is responsible for the care of his or her badge, no exceptions.
Admission to the Conference area will require, at all times, the presentation of badges.
Detailed information concerning press facilities and media accreditation will be issued separately on request.

Programme of the week
A draft version of the programme will be circulated prior to the conference.
The final programme of the ARA WEEK will be printed in the Showguide, which will be distributed on-site.
Languages of the Conference
English & French shall be the official languages of the Conference. Official documents of the AGM will be available in the languages of the Conference.
For better quality interpretation, PDF version of presentations must reach the ARA by February 15th, 2017. If you have a translated version of your presentation, that would help a great deal!
Circulation of ARA WEEK documents
All speeches, presentations, participants’ list, Showguide will be uploaded onto the ARA’s website www.afrra.org and the download link will be sent to all within a week after the conference.
Presentations will not be downloaded to USB keys during the conference.
Presentations will be reviewed by the ARA and must reach us by February 15th, 2017 at latest.
Data should be in Microsoft Power Point format.
Windows is the only operating system available for the presentations.
Confirmed Work Group Meetings will all be held on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th of March 2017.
